If you are thinking about outsourcing, there are some critical things you should consider during the decision-making process. Many times clients find out differences in "philosophy" after they have transitioned their contacts to the outsourcing partner. Since changing outsourcers is seen as a painful process, many clients stay with their current outsourcers even though they are not receiving what they perceive to be the World Class Service to which they are entitled. This results in building resentment for both the client and the vendor. Understanding the vendor's culture and management philosphy is a critical component to the selection process - and is almost never evaulated on a deeper level.
